Job Summary:

Western CT Health Network Inc is seeking a skilled Inpatient Coder to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology, ICD-10-CM/ICD-10 PCS coding, and experience in acute care coding.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and efficient coding of inpatient records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding systems.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate diagnoses and procedures.
• Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines, regulations, and industry developments to maintain high-level expertise.
• Mentor and train junior coders to ensure consistent coding standards.

Requirements:

• Certified Coding Specialist (AHIMA) or Certified Inpatient Coder (AAPC) certification.
• 5+ years of experience in inpatient coding with a strong understanding of coding and documentation guidelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and high accuracy rates.

Working Conditions:

• Medium to heavy physical effort with occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.
• Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
