Nuvance Health is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Registration Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing registration, order entry, and reception functions for the Laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately identify patients, perform complete registration, and obtain necessary consents and signatures.
  • Obtain all required information for billing, enter correct diagnosis codes, and follow registration protocols to ensure accurate and timely billing.
  • Order tests correctly in the computer system, print requisitions, and verify orders.
  • Communicate effectively with other staff members to provide excellent customer service and ensure follow-up.
  • Answer phones promptly and appropriately.
  • Accurately label and receive specimens into the laboratory LIS system and deliver to the appropriate section.
  • Act as a customer service representative for the laboratory, handling tasks such as faxing, verbal result reporting, add-ons, and questions.
  • Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service and data entry.
  • CT Driver's License for travel to offsite locations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Medical terminology and ICD-9 coding knowledge.
  • Medical office or hospital experience.

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is variable, with hours between 6:30 AM and 11:30 PM, alternating Saturdays and holidays as needed.
