Position: Accounting Specialist
Contract to Hire with potential for full-time employment
Compensation: $28 - $32 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and tax compliance.
- Execute full-cycle bookkeeping, handling all aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and billing processes.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy of invoices and purchase orders.
- Prepare and record monthly journal entries.
- Reconcile balance sheets, ledgers, and accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
- Analyze financial data and report on financial status, including variances in income statements.
- Ensure adherence to internal processes and compliance with regulations.
- Assist in budget preparation and financial planning activities.
- Review and suggest improvements to accounting systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and relevant regulations.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience in both private and public accounting environments.
- Ability to manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts receivable, invoicing, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and numerical abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Capability to interpret and analyze financial statements effectively.
- Experience in managing intercompany transactions and corporate consolidation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
- Motivated and eager to embrace new challenges and learning opportunities.
