Job SummaryTeam Elmer's is seeking a skilled Dirt Laborer to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to our skilled workers on various projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform physical labor tasks at highway and heavy construction project sites.
- Operate hand and power tools, including shovels and machinery.
- Dig dirt and excavate sites using various equipment.
- Assist in cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, and removing waste materials.
- Read grades, lift and carry objects and materials of various weights.
- Help maintain equipment and report any damaged or unsafe equipment to the foreman.
- Practice safety at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Take initiative and anticipate tasks that need to be completed.
- Work collaboratively with your crew and assist other craft workers as needed.
- Regulate traffic on jobsites as required.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months construction work experience with references.
- Valid license, CDL preferred or the ability to obtain within one year.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Clean driving record for the past 5 years.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Previous experience in laboring, farming, or manual work is preferred but not required.
- Ability to complete tasks involving power tools, heavy equipment, and manual labor.
- Ability to work long hours, perform repetitive lifting, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Good work ethic, punctuality, and alertness.
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment, machines, and tools.
- Building and Construction knowledge of materials, methods, and tools.
- Ability to follow company, DOT, OSHA, and MiOSHA safety rules.
