Position Summary

The Chief Student Enrollment Officer is an executive-level position responsible for strategic planning, community outreach, family support, and staff management within the Student Enrollment Services Division. This role oversees three teams: Enrollment Family Services, Early Childhood Education, and K-12 Enrollment Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic planning and implementation across the division, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the Student Enrollment Services Division, providing vision, objectives, and expectations for work performance that supports enrollment activities.
  • Oversee the annual NCAP lottery, collaborating with the Department of Data Systems, including application materials, school data, training, timelines, and communication to families and schools.
  • Develop and review forms and processes used by schools to register students, preparing documentation to assist schools with enrolling, transferring, and discharging students.
  • Analyze and report student data, including enrollment and demographics from the annual student count.
  • Establish standards of practice for engaging with and supporting families in the Family Resource Center.
  • Develop effective communication plans and outreach strategies to support early childhood education and K-12 enrollment application campaigns and events.
  • Maintain high-quality service by enforcing quality and customer service standards, analyzing and resolving quality and family and stakeholder service problems, identifying trends, and recommending system improvements.
  • Support the Accountability team with enrollment violations.
  • Collaborate with OPSB leadership, community organizations, and educational partners to discuss enrollment patterns and school choice equity issues.
  • Attend School Board meetings and make presentations to board members and community stakeholders regarding the state of enrollment.
  • Provide support, trainings, resources, and enrollment engagement activities for New Orleans families and students throughout the year.
  • Serve as a member of the Superintendent's leadership cabinet and attend weekly strategic and operational meetings.
  • Represent the district in Early Childhood Education Co-Agency work, the New Orleans Early Childhood Education Network (NOEEN), and state Early Childhood Education enrollment support.
Requirements
  • Master's degree strongly preferred, minimum of a bachelor's degree in education, public administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten years of progressive relevant experience or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Successfully managed a team to achieve ambitious performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience managing systems, programs, and events with attention to detail and customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and codifying systems to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Proven experience in building relationships with families, schools' personnel, elected officials, and community stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable local, state, and federal educational laws, regulations, policies, and requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate and interact with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communications.
