Role Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop initial 2D concepts for products.
  • Generate 3D models, outlines, and layouts for aerospace sub-systems and engine controls.
  • Create solid models for individual components, housings, and assemblies using Siemens NX.
  • Implement Model Based Definition (MBD) practices for complex parts.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses to ensure optimal fit and performance of assemblies.
  • Oversee detailing drafters in producing component drawings for design projects.
  • Verify the accuracy of drawings, ensuring compliance with GD&T and industry standards.
  • Facilitate product design reviews and coordinate efforts with project and manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain organized filing and control of design data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Siemens NX/Teamcenter environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and design intent.
  • Thorough understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Experience with MBD practices, including the creation of 3D drawings.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Interpersonal skills and a passion for teamwork in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials relevant to aerospace applications is advantageous.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Work Environment:

  • Involvement primarily on the shop floor with occasional office work.
  • Adherence to strict regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Flexibility to meet business deadlines as needed.
  • Typical work hours are 40 hours per week with core hours from 9 AM to 4 PM.
