Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop initial 2D concepts for products.
  • Create comprehensive 3D models, outlines, and layouts of aerospace sub-systems and engine control products.
  • Produce solid models for individual components, housings, and assemblies using Siemens NX, while managing the Bill of Materials.
  • Implement Model Based Definition (MBD) practices for complex components, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Conduct tolerance stack-up analyses to guarantee proper fit, alignment, and performance of intricate assemblies.
  • Oversee detailing drafters in the preparation of component drawings for various design projects.
  • Review drawings for precision, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards and aerospace industry regulations.
  • Support product design reviews and coordinate efforts with project, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain organized filing and control of design data, adhering to export classification requirements.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, interpreting and implementing both oral and written directives.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Siemens NX/Teamcenter environments.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and design intent.
  • In-depth knowledge of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
  • Experience with MBD practices, including the creation of 3D drawings.
  • Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials relevant to aerospace applications is advantageous.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily involves shop floor engagement with occasional office tasks.
  • Requires flexibility to meet business deadlines, including potential extended hours.
  • Adherence to strict regulatory standards and procedures is mandatory.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
