Financial Wellness Advisor Position

This role involves delivering essential financial advisory services tailored for military personnel and their families. The primary responsibilities encompass a comprehensive suite of financial counseling services, including personalized consultations, informative briefings, and resource referrals. Effective collaboration with military Points of Contact (POC) is crucial to ensure that the program aligns with the unique needs of the installation.

  • Offers expert financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
  • Aids service members in formulating spending plans for extended deployments.
  • Develops and disseminates financial education materials for service members and their families.
  • Facilitates various Personal Financial Management workshops and classes throughout the military lifecycle.
  • Responds to requests for age-appropriate financial education sessions.
  • Effectively utilizes virtual counseling and electronic communication methods.
  • Manages duty to warn situations in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
  • Engages with leadership and participates in supervision sessions.
  • Involves in ongoing training and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Performs any additional duties as required.

Additional Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates with an associate degree and 4 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with 6 years of experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial counseling is essential.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens and proficient in English.
  • Ability to obtain Tier 1 investigation approval is necessary.
  • Certification as an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) is required.
