Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for temporary part-time (Adjunct) Faculty teaching assignments in Philosophy. This is an open until filled pool, and applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the Area Dean.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field.
  • Continuously develop professional skills and utilize current technology in the performance of job duties.
  • Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
  • Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review.
  • Participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Area Dean.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Master's degree from an accredited institution.
  2. One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's administrative assignment.
  3. Equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
