Position Overview

The Director of Mergers and Acquisitions is responsible for leading all aspects of merger and acquisition initiatives for Spotless Brands across the United States. This role includes supervising junior M&A staff and ensuring that car wash operators, brokerage networks, and other relevant entities prioritize Spotless Brands for acquisition opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential acquisition targets, manage succession planning, and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities through quantitative analysis and due diligence.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with a wide array of independent owners and strategic targets while monitoring acquisition pipeline activities.
  • Conduct onsite meetings with prospective sellers to foster relationships and assess acquisition potential.
  • Perform market visits to evaluate potential acquisition sites.
  • Lead negotiations and oversee the execution of contracts, ensuring successful deal closures for all M&A transactions.
  • Regularly prepare and present updates to the VP of Development and collaborate with various executive leaders to effectively implement Spotless' growth strategy.
  • Maintain and distribute the M&A pipeline to the executive team, ensuring transparency and communication.
  • Engage with field sales leaders to gather insights for succession planning and acquisition target engagement.
  • Analyze financial and sales documentation from potential acquisition targets to assess viability.
  • Compile market and due diligence data to integrate acquisition targets into corporate forecasts and processes.
  • Monitor the accuracy of the target pipeline and key project milestones to ensure timely transaction execution.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting and analysis to executive stakeholders.
  • Participate in industry trade shows and conventions as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Existing relationships with brokers are preferred.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the M&A deal execution process.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Letters of Intent (LOI), Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSA), and lease terms.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management expertise.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Self-motivated with a strong drive to achieve goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills and comfort in addressing large audiences.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues, resolve conflicts, and provide strategic direction.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 25%-40% of the time.
