Position Overview

The Head of Mergers and Acquisitions is responsible for leading all strategic planning and outreach efforts related to mergers and acquisitions for Spotless Brands across the United States. This role includes supervising junior M & A staff and ensuring that car wash operators, brokerage networks, and other key relationships prioritize Spotless Brands for acquisition opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential acquisition targets, manage succession planning, and maintain a robust pipeline of targets while conducting quantitative analyses to assess their viability.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with a large network of independent owners and strategic targets, while tracking acquisition pipeline activities.
  • Engage with potential sellers through onsite visits to cultivate relationships.
  • Conduct market site evaluations of prospective acquisitions.
  • Oversee the negotiation and execution of contracts, ensuring successful deal closure for all M & A initiatives.
  • Regularly prepare and present updates to the VP of Development and collaborate closely with Market Development and Corporate Development teams to effectively implement Spotless' growth strategy.
  • Continuously manage the distribution of the M & A pipeline to the executive team.
  • Collaborate with field sales leaders to gather insights for succession planning and engage with acquisition targets.
  • Analyze financial and sales documentation from potential acquisition targets.
  • Conduct due diligence to assess the viability of acquisition targets.
  • Compile market summaries and due diligence information to integrate acquisition targets into corporate forecasts and processes.
  • Monitor the accuracy of the target pipeline and key milestones to ensure timely transaction execution.
  • Provide comprehensive reporting and analysis to executive stakeholders.
  • Participate in regional trade shows and conventions relevant to the industry.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, real estate, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions.
  • Existing relationships with brokers are preferred.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the M & A transaction process.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting techniques.
  • Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Letters of Intent (LOI), Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSA), and lease terms.
  • Demonstrated organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and urgency in a dynamic development environment.
  • Excellent presentation skills, comfortable addressing large audiences.
  • Proven ability to resolve conflicts and provide direction.

Travel Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel 25%-40% of the time.
