Key Responsibilities
  • Process Clinical Results: You will be responsible for processing clinical results daily, uploading them into the appropriate record via MHS GENESIS.
  • Notify Providers: You will send a communication to the PCM/referring provider through MHS GENESIS notifying them that the results are available for review.
  • Review and Disposition Referrals: You will review and disposition referrals accordingly in MHS GENESIS.
  • Research and Request Replacement Documents: You will research and request replacement documents for partial results and those missing a second identifier.
  • Adhere to HIPAA Requirements: You will adhere to all requirements under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Document Work: You will document your work in the Referral Management System (RMS) as to what was accomplished.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalency: You must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
  • General Medical Ethics and Communication Skills: You must have general medical ethics, telephone etiquette, written/verbal & electronic communication skills.
  • Operational Computer Skills: You must have operational computer skills with general working knowledge of word processing, and Microsoft applications (including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Training and Certifications: You must possess or complete Privacy Act and HIPAA, Data-Safeguarding, Anti-Terrorism, Interacting with Government Employees, MHS GENESIS appointment booking, and policy training in a trainer-to-trainer format.
  • TRICARE Online Training: You must possess or complete TRICARE online training and have a solid understanding of the TRICARE online appointing and referral process.
  • MHS GENESIS Revenue Cycle and Scheduling Training: You must possess or complete MHS GENESIS Revenue Cycle and scheduling training.
  • Secure Messaging Platform Training: You must possess or complete training on the secure messaging platform and be capable of managing inbox volume.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills: You must have excellent customer service skills and experience.
  • General Office Administrative and Clerical Skills: You must have general office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones.
  • Excellent Communications and Organizational Skills: You must have excellent communications skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Computer Operations: You must have computer operations, including operational skills with Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Physical Demands: You must be able to frequently sit, use hands/fingers, handle, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and see up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus; occasionally walk or stand.
