Risk Management Specialist

Citi, a leading global bank, is seeking a highly skilled Business Risk and Control Group Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing complex and critical professional disciplinary areas, leading a team of professionals, and driving the implementation of operational risk policies and governance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology, and tools to minimize losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
- Independently assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes of operational risk losses.
- Provide governance and oversight, including technology operational risk, cyber risk, and other areas as needed.
- Drive Operation Risk Anticipation, Mitigation, and Loss Recovery, and ensure the implementation of Operation Risk Policy.
- Inform the Operational Risk Council on Sub-Segment Level OR-related matters and attend In-Business Risk Committees.
- Manage and allocate resources for the identification of issue root cause, partnering with control and process owners to recommend corrective actions and improvements.
- Assist in directing teams in the implementation of the Lessons Learned Policy, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination of learnings across business units.
- Support, review, and challenge the effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks, including implementation and operation, conducting control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues for resolution.
- Take ownership of identifying, assessing, recording, and responding to Operational and Compliance Risk events, ensuring accurate and timely capture.
- Assess the risks associated with New Activities and changes to the Business, ensuring well-understood and adequately controlled risks.
- Guide and influence standards and procedures that conform to enterprise requirements and support sound operational and compliance risk management.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with significant experience in Technology Risk and other risk and control disciplines.
- Strong technical aptitude and relevant experience, with a deep understanding of software delivery processes and practices.
- Experience in Internal Audit or Financial Control is desirable, with expertise in Fraud Awareness and Risk Management, Operations and Systems, and other areas.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Bachelor's/University degree.
