About the Role:
We are seeking an Assistant Director of Finance who shares our passion for excellence and is enthusiastic about creating the ultimate service experience. The successful candidate will be a member of a dynamic team delivering great service to our internal and external guests. This position reports to the Director of Finance and requires a strong understanding of financial management principles, including financial statement preparation, accruals, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and at least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong working knowledge of back-office accounting systems, are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
The Assistant Director of Finance will be responsible for preparing all financial statements, accruals, and journal entries, as well as maintaining reconciliations for balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. The successful candidate will also assist the Director of Finance with the preparation of forecasts and budgets as required locally, by corporate office, or management agreement. Additionally, the Assistant Director of Finance will oversee the preparation of all local, state, and federal tax returns on a timely basis and select employees and train them on accounting standards to minimize turnover, maintain high morale, and promote career development. The ideal candidate will also review the cash position of the hotel on a daily basis to optimize the use of funds and maintain close relations with the hotel's internal and external auditors to ensure effective action on all agreed-upon recommendations.
