Job Summary

The District Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales growth and profitability within assigned districts. Reporting to the Regional Sales Vice President, this leadership position is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans to increase sales revenues from existing clients and acquire new ones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and achieve annual sales quotas for districts and territories.
  • Collaborate with Territory Managers to forecast sales volume and profit, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate Territory Managers' progress, providing constructive feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement.
  • Recruit, motivate, and develop Territory Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, performance-based management, and teamwork.
  • Lead and facilitate change management initiatives to support organizational objectives.
  • Work closely with internal departments to provide vital information for customer service, including advance notification of changes, new business opportunities, and product updates.
  • Ensure timely communication with customers, management, and associates through effective email and telephone communication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business.
  • 5+ years of sales management experience in the B2B market segment, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and profitability.
  • 2-3 years of field sales experience, with a strong understanding of financial concepts, including pricing and forecasting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and professional interactive skills, with the ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, management, and associates.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and develop individuals and teams, with a collaborative management style and a focus on accountability and performance-based management.
Work Environment

The District Sales Manager will work in a normal office environment or from a remote home-based office, with occasional travel to and from Territory Managers, customers, and prospects in the assigned region. Overnight travel may be required for company events, district meetings, training sessions, vendor fairs, and client appointments.

This position requires a valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company minimum standards for travel throughout the assigned district to service customers and call upon prospects.
