Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Conducting assessments for AAC and SLP based on individual needs and formulating treatment plans.
  • Performing AT assessments focusing on physical access, cognitive, and low vision needs.
  • Delivering therapy and training services related to AT, AAC, and SLP for individuals with disabilities.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to AAC tools.
  • Preparing necessary written documentation and reports.
  • Managing the application and approval process for AAC device funding.
  • Overseeing case management tasks, including referrals, scheduling, billing, team collaboration, and service delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records of assessments and therapy logs to track client progress.
  • Engaging in continuous professional development relevant to the field.
  • Traveling to various counties as required, with travel expenses reimbursed.
Qualifications

A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution is required.

Experience

A minimum of one year of experience directly related to AAC service delivery is preferred.

Essential Skills
  • In-depth knowledge of speech pathology theories, methodologies, and practices.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Experience in AAC service delivery is advantageous.
Licensure and Certification

Certification of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, along with a State of Maryland License in Speech-Language Pathology, is mandatory.

Physical Demands

Visual and auditory acuity to read small print and conduct perceptual diagnostic assessments. Capability to reach, stoop, crouch, push, walk, stand, and lift 25 pounds.
