About the Role:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and hearing evaluations for new residents within 30 days of arrival.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans based on each individual's unique needs and goals.
  • Monitor and document progress, ensuring effective implementation of therapy programs.
  • Provide basic sign language training to facility staff, fostering communication with residents.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including families, therapists, social workers, and medical professionals, to ensure holistic care.

Requirements:

  • Active Maryland Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current Adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Minimum of one year of experience providing speech therapy services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or dual diagnoses.
  • Minimum of five years of overall experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
