North Corps General Manager

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory seeks a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead the North Corps team. This strategic leadership position is responsible for providing oversight and guidance to the management and staff, ensuring the successful implementation of the Corps Officers' vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain overall strategies, priorities, and direction in collaboration with Corps Officers and leadership team members.
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities, including team schedules, to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Handle routine matters, troubleshoot issues, and escalate problems to satisfactory resolution, keeping Corps Officers informed.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement, working with Directors and Managers to measure departmental performance and meet program, staffing, and budget objectives.
- Ensure compliance with local risk management and emergency procedures, as well as all established TSA policies and procedures.
- Conduct facility inspections, coordinate repairs, and recommend improvements to enhance the overall Corps experience.
- Develop and manage capital improvement plans and projects in conjunction with Divisional Headquarters.
- Support and guide Officers in establishing goals, developing policies, and creating programs that advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
- Maintain an active presence in community groups and public forums, representing the North Corps as directed.
- Oversee center-wide events to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Coordinate with Corps Officers, Divisional, and Territorial personnel on projects, including fundraising and mission advancement.
- Build community partnerships and maintain contact with potential and current donors, external groups, and partners.
- Lead and coordinate staff meetings, management team meetings, and committee meetings, ensuring effective communication and desired outcomes.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in business or equivalent, with at least 5 years of related experience in organizational management and leadership.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and program staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to access website for timekeeping and pay purposes.
- English proficiency required; Spanish language skill helpful.
- Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Flexibility to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously and handle confidential matters.
- Strong independent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass all applicable background checks.
- Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
- Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Certifications and Licenses:
- Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
Physical Requirements:
- Good speaking, hearing, and vision.
- Excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods, with dexterity to operate equipment.
- Ability to lift and/or move more than 25 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions:
- Mixed environment including offices, service counters, and program spaces.
- Portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid or moderately loud in nature.
