Electrical Engineering Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Hawthorne Gardening Company. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions for our Lighting and Controllers category.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of high-frequency and high-density power electronics devices, including circuit design, simulation, and validation.
  • Manage our internal R&D and performance test lab, ensuring that test equipment is calibrated annually and coordinating with cross-functional teams to collect, execute, and report on test requests.
  • Support internal quality and manufacturing teams, providing lab services and technical support on internal manufacturing items, including lighting, controllers, and other hardware.
  • Partner with our internal regulatory team to stay up-to-date on the latest lighting and controller regulatory and standard developments, attending ANSI, ASABE, UL, DLC, and NIST committee meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Category Managers to ensure they have the necessary technical knowledge to support their categories, including RF devices, compliance, and lab performance testing.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time to support business needs.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering; PhD with RF device focus preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in RF device development and high-density power electronics.
  • Preferred experience in managing electrical and electronics labs.
  • Working experience in a Mandarin-speaking environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of power electronics hardware design.
  • Advanced knowledge of high-frequency FPGA and RF design.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor devices and solid-state lighting.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Drive to deliver products on time with attention to quality.
  • Ability to speak Mandarin preferred.
