Position Overview:
The Evening Custodial Technician is tasked with ensuring the facility's cleanliness during evening hours, including weekends. This role also involves assisting with the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of events.

Compensation:
This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16 to $18.

The Saint Charles Convention Center, recognized for its elegance, stands as the premier full-service convention venue in the Saint Louis Metro Area. Managed by Oak View Group, it features 154,000 square feet of adaptable space, suitable for events accommodating anywhere from 10 to 3,000 guests. The venue has received accolades such as the IAVM Venue Excellence Award and is celebrated as one of St. Louis' Top Workplaces, earning high praise from both clients and staff.

Facility Highlights:
The center includes 1,200 complimentary parking spaces, 21 meeting rooms, two sophisticated ballrooms, and a versatile exhibit hall with various options for carpet and draping. In-house offerings encompass exceptional food and beverage services, skilled event planning, audio-visual support, decor, on-site security, marketing, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate daily with the Facilities Manager or Operations Coordinators to receive and review assignments.
  • Play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of the facilities.
  • Regularly inspect restrooms for cleanliness and supply levels.
  • Execute daily cleaning tasks according to established checklists and confirm completion.
  • Identify and report any maintenance issues within the building.
  • Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas.
  • Assist colleagues in other departments as required.
  • Utilize a communication device to relay event-related needs to other staff members.
  • Prepare and clean rooms in line with operational protocols.
  • Effectively manage post-event cleanup and waste disposal.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment, including buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and snow removal tools as necessary.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.

Qualifications:

  • Must remain vigilant to changes in events, including staffing or supply shortages.
  • Ability to work from general instructions with minimal oversight.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a service-oriented environment with frequently shifting priorities.
  • Capable of responding calmly to public inquiries; must exhibit accountability and responsibility.
  • Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
