Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY: The maintenance technician is responsible for conducting routine and comprehensive preventative upkeep and repair tasks on facilities, mechanical systems, and utility infrastructures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure compliance with Trexcon's policies and operational standards.
  2. Engage in effective communication with all team members.
  3. Adapt to changes efficiently and manage additional tasks as required, maintaining flexibility in daily operations.
  4. Support the core mission of Trexcon.
  5. Possess a valid Missouri Driver's license.
  6. Carry out both minor and major repairs on all facilities and equipment, with major repairs supervised by licensed personnel.
  7. Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, including inspecting belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, and greasing components.
  8. Repair broken windows, doors, locks, and install window coverings.
  9. Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklists and keep accurate records of maintenance activities.
  10. Operate computer systems that monitor and control mechanical and utility systems.
  11. Install and repair electrical wiring and equipment, including new services and wiring for renovation projects.
  12. Fix electrical devices and control circuits, replace faulty switches, and repair refrigeration units.
  13. Maintain security by repairing electrical locks and control panels.
  14. Install computer cabling as needed.
  15. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
  16. Assist in building renovations, including plaster and drywall repairs, as well as painting tasks.
  17. Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules.
  18. Perform outdoor custodial duties, such as snow removal, when necessary.
  19. Obtain estimates for supplies and repair parts, and order materials as required.
  20. Foster a collaborative relationship with all management personnel.
  21. Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Requires prolonged periods of standing.
  2. Involves physical effort to manually lift, carry, pull, or push heavy items, often exceeding 100 lbs.
  3. Occasionally requires lifting weights between 50 to 100 lbs.
  4. Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing is necessary.
  5. Travel may be required.
  6. Occasional sitting is expected.
  7. Exposure to wet and humid conditions may occur.
  8. Occasional work at heights or in precarious locations.
  9. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles may happen.
  10. Handling toxic or caustic chemicals is occasionally necessary.
  11. Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  12. Risk of electrical shock may be present.
