Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Procurement Specialist to enhance our client's purchasing department. This role is pivotal in overseeing procurement functions, encompassing purchasing, inventory oversight, contract negotiations, and supplier relations. The successful candidate will possess a robust knowledge of procurement methodologies, material requirements planning (MRP), and financial tracking, coupled with strong analytical capabilities to monitor budgetary allocations. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effectively managing supplier partnerships and collaborating with various internal teams.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete procurement cycle, which includes purchasing, inventory management, and supplier engagement.
  • Negotiate supplier contracts and terms to secure cost-efficient and timely acquisition of goods and services.
  • Establish and nurture strong supplier relationships to guarantee quality and dependability.
  • Track and analyze budget expenditures, ensuring procurement activities align with financial objectives.
  • Employ MRP techniques and procurement strategies to optimize inventory levels and fulfill production needs.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze procurement data, supporting strategic decision-making and identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with internal departments, such as operations and finance, to align procurement strategies with broader business goals.
  • Maintain and update procurement documentation and reports using SAP.
  • Facilitate effective communication with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and management to ensure seamless procurement processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Operations Planning, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in procurement, including purchasing, inventory management, contract negotiations, and supplier relations within a manufacturing context.
  • In-depth understanding of MRP systems and procurement methodologies.
  • Intermediate proficiency with SAP and advanced Excel capabilities for data analysis.
  • Outstanding communication skills, encompassing listening, speaking, writing, and presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to foster and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cost accounting and budget management within a manufacturing setting.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is advantageous.
