Job Summary

The Office of International Programs at Colorado State University invites applications for adjunct ESL instructors in Programs for Learning Academic and Community English (PLACE). We are seeking individuals who are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment and constantly striving to act in ways that affirm and support students, staff, faculty, leadership, and the communities with whom they engage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach English language courses to international students in a full-time, intensive format.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and aligns with the goals of the Intensive English Program (IEP).
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current in the field of English language instruction.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in TESOL, TESL/TEFL, applied linguistics, or closely related field.
  • Five years of teaching experience in an academic English program at the post-secondary level.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching English language courses in a university setting.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
