About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our financial leadership team, you will be responsible for the overall financial management of our firm, including day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Financial Management: Oversee and direct accounting, budgeting, funding, audit, tax, financial forecasting, reporting, and collections for the firm.
  • Cash Management: Manage the Firm's cash across multiple bank accounts, monitoring activity daily to ensure proper balances to meet operating needs and research and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Internal Controls: Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Review general ledger detail and make journal entries as needed, produce monthly financial statements and reports, and analyze, approve, and implement all accounting procedures and automated financial information systems improvements to drive best practices.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Maintain existing banking relationships and strategic alliances with vendors and business partners.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare data for and process the 401(k) profit-sharing calculation, establish annual operating budget, coordinate budgeting process, forecast/update throughout the year, and report on revenue and expenses against budget.
  • Tax Reporting: Annual tax reporting to outside CPA firm to ensure accurate and timely preparation of the firm's federal income tax return, including equity partners' schedule K-1.
  • Financial Presentations: Appraise the firm's financial position and deliver presentations on firm's financial stability, liquidity, and growth.
  • Cost Analysis: Develop and analyze costs for proposed new areas of practice and potential mergers.
  • Financial Leadership: Participate in all partnership meetings, retreats, and all other special meetings and present required financial data.
  • Departmental Policies: Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Financial Systems: Review and implement new systems, methodologies, and controls to enhance efficiencies, safeguard financial assets, and the security of records.
  • Financial Reporting: Direct and supervise preparation of internal financial reporting and annual financial reports.
  • Business Surveys: Work with the Office Director to prepare all business surveys on the firm's behalf.
