About the Role

Fehr & Peers is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Prepare construction documents and design drawings for various project types, including traffic signals and intelligent transportation systems.
  • Project Management: Obtain as-built drawings, manage utility coordination, and prepare project specifications and construction cost estimates.
  • Field Visits: Conduct site visits to review existing conditions, design constraints, or construction activities.
  • Design Support: Provide design support during construction, including requests for information and contractor submittals.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in transportation, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Work experience as a designer and/or completion of significant project coursework in transportation engineering design, roadway design, civil site design, or related areas.
  • Skills: Exceptional technical writing and public speaking skills, with a focus on career growth.
  • Certifications: EIT or PE license (highly desirable) and familiarity with design software, such as AutoCAD and/or Microstation (highly desirable).
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: $76,000 - $82,000 per year, based on education, experience, and qualifications.
