Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at Ohio History Connection. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with immigrant and refugee communities, promoting our organization's mission and programs, and advancing our commitment to the collective health and well-being of Ohio's communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Engagement: Engage with immigrant and refugee communities to enhance current relationships and build new ones, connecting them to our programs and services.
  • Partnership Development: Act as a liaison to the Ohio Immigrant and Refugee communities, developing and maintaining relationships with New American organizations and individuals.
  • Program Coordination: Participate in community-based events and programs, utilizing personal or public transportation resources.
  • Project Management: Serve as Project Director for the Emerging New American Community Team (ENACT), planning, implementing, and managing existing and future ENACT cohorts.
  • Community Feedback: Collect and share community feedback with Ohio History Connection staff to better meet and understand community needs.
  • Sustainability & Administration: Innovate how we collect and share the past of immigrant and refugee Ohioans and their communities, manage and track a budget, prepare grant proposals, and contribute to fundraising research and relationship stewardship.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, plus three to five years of relevant working experience, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, plus one to three years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, and development, with a focus on immigrant and refugee communities.
