Position Overview:

The role involves supporting Technimark's New Product Development (NPD) and engineering initiatives, alongside operational functions, utilizing sophisticated metrology engineering techniques. The engineer will be tasked with developing, planning, and executing measurement methodologies, validations, and inspections. A critical aspect of this position is to identify potential failure modes and risks associated with designs and processes for new and transferred products. The engineer will conduct root cause analyses for measurement system discrepancies, implement corrective measures, and verify their effectiveness. Additionally, the role includes supporting data acquisition and reporting programs related to metrology activities. The engineer will analyze and interpret data and inspection outcomes, producing comprehensive reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Fundamental and advanced concepts in analytic geometry and quality specialization, particularly in metrology, will be applied.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • A bachelor’s degree in a scientific, mathematical, or engineering discipline, with a preference for candidates possessing at least two years of experience in metrology engineering. Relevant experience and demonstrated proficiency in advanced metrology may substitute for formal education. Candidates must exhibit strong skills in statistical data analysis, test plan formulation, measurement system evaluation, and validation techniques, alongside a solid understanding of metrology practices, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and Solid Modeling. Experience with metrology equipment programming and training in advanced metrology techniques is essential. Familiarity with the Datum Reference System and a working knowledge of 3D analytic geometries are required, with a preference for candidates experienced with scanning equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to define, interpret, and comprehend customer specifications and requirements. Transform customer needs into Technimark specifications for new product initiatives. Assist in the development of testing methodologies, metrology techniques, inspection protocols, and investigations into complaints. Carry out metrology tasks adhering to standards such as ISO 10360, ISO 17025, and ASME GD&T 14.5 as necessary. Contribute to data acquisition and reporting initiatives for metrology.
