As a Senior Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Parts and Materiel Management program for AQR, supporting critical engineering initiatives for the Air Force.

Hybrid/remote: 4 days onsite at the Pentagon

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate requirements and assist in the formulation of guidelines and procedures for integrating SSE into all acquisition phases of lifecycle management and sustainment of Air Force weapon systems.
  • Coordinate SSE for weapon systems, encompassing strategic planning, systems engineering, capital planning, investment control, workforce planning, standards development, resource management, knowledge management, and infrastructure management.
  • Facilitate policy development for the acquisition, implementation, and integration of CSRS techniques into software supporting operations throughout all lifecycle management phases.
  • Conduct engineering assessments of Technical Transition activities, including mission engineering, early systems engineering, experimentation, and prototyping.
  • Perform technical evaluations on individual weapon systems and their integration capabilities.
  • Analyze weapon systems architecture, identify issues, and propose effective solutions.
  • Conduct research to identify operational deficiencies and recommend alternatives for resolution.
  • Perform trade-off studies concerning weapon systems, technology, and costs.
  • Assess the capabilities of weapon system design alternatives to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Provide expertise in Model Based Systems Engineering implementation and related policies.
  • Evaluate policy requirements governing Air Force acquisition engineering and technical services.
  • Analyze end-of-life support for operating systems and recommend strategies to mitigate impacts on weapon systems.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Materials, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering) is required. A minimum of 10 years of pertinent acquisition systems engineering experience in a System Program Office and/or HAF is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORs or CAMEO is desirable.

Work Experience Substitutions:
12 years of relevant work experience may substitute for a MA/MS degree. A BA/BS degree plus 8 years of relevant work experience may also substitute for a MA/MS degree.
