Key Responsibilities

  • Provide start-up, warranty, preventive maintenance, and repair of chillers, cooling towers, heat pumps, and related equipment.
  • Verify equipment is installed, programmed, and operating according to manufacturer's Installation & Operation Manuals (IOM's) and published specifications.
  • Set-up communications between equipment and troubleshoot interface with Building Management Systems.
  • Perform wiring or rewiring between electrical panels and CHC equipment as required.
  • Provide feedback to Sales and Management of other billable service opportunities at customer sites.
  • Follow all OSHA, NFPA, Local, CHC, and site-specific Safety requirements and training.
  • Train and mentor less senior technicians as needed.
  • Update equipment system software as required.
  • Troubleshoot systems utilizing diagnostic tools such as data loggers, multi-meters, process meters, laser alignment tools, and combustion analyzers.
  • Keep up to date on the equipment on CHC's line card.
  • Provide start-up, operating, and maintenance training for the customer, and/or technical direction.
  • Attend factory schools, virtual or in person, for training as assigned.
  • Pursue additional formal education as needed, and reimbursed (per handbook) by, CHC.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience related to CHC's equipment in commercial or industrial applications, such as: chillers, cooling towers, or other HVAC equipment.
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks according to company goals and objectives.
  • Strong technical skills, diagnostic capabilities, and aptitude to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Basic or intermediate writing skills.
  • General computer experience with MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience related to CHC's equipment in commercial or industrial applications, such as: chillers, cooling towers, heat pumps, HVAC, plumbing, boilers, pumping.
  • Experience quoting service labor and materials to customers.
  • Knowledge of direct digital controls and VFD experience are desirable.
  • Where applicable, relevant licenses pertaining to HVAC, EPA, electrical, plumbing, boilers.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Associates Degree or Technical training from accredited school in any of the following: a plus
