Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Tech Assistant to support our technical staff in a fast-paced medical environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our MRI department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Safety and Support
    • Ensure patient safety at all times by following proper policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Assisting Technologists
    • Assist technologists in setting up the room, including:
      • Setting up proper coil for exam.
      • Ensuring clean linen is available.
      • Making available any items that may assist the patient's setup.
  • Patient Interview and Preparation
    • Assist in the patient interview process, including:
      • Conducting a safety check list.
      • Recording symptoms and history.
      • Determining if prior exams have been performed.
      • Ensuring the patient is properly dressed for the exam.
      • Explaining the procedure to the patient.
      • Reassuring the patient if anxious.
  • Exam Support
    • Assist technologists in setting the patient for the exam, including:
      • Aiding the patient in getting on the table.
      • Ensuring all safety devices are in place.
      • Helping the patient get comfortable.
  • Post-Exam Procedures
    • Assist technologists upon completion of the exam, including:
      • Removing the patient from the bore.
      • Removing all safety equipment.
  • Aid the patient off the table and assist to the changing area.
  • Assist in checking that all paperwork is complete.
  • Assist in retrieving prior paperwork.
  • Assist in retrieving prior pertinent exams.
  • Assist in checking that prior exams are on the appropriate workstation.
  • Assist with Tech Data Entry.
  • Assist with the cleaning and stocking of exam rooms.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • CPR certification required.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
    • Ability to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
    • Ability to push, pull, and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
Internal/External Interactions

Extensive interactions with all customer groups, including patients, families, referring community, and SHC employees.
