Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide efficient and high-quality service to patients, including registration, scheduling, and billing.
  • Coordinate patient appointments and communicate with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Answer multiple incoming telephone lines and respond to patient inquiries.
  • Distribute communications and notifications to patients and healthcare team members.
  • Resolve patient questions and concerns, including billing and clinical information.
  • Schedule future appointments and requisitions, laboratory tests, and other special diagnostic tests.
  • Notify patient care area when patient has arrived and is ready to be seen.
  • Ensure accurate and timely medical records and billing information.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two to three years of customer service experience in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
  • Experience handling difficult caller/customers/patients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CRT/PC experience in a customer service setting.
  • Working knowledge of IDX system.
  • Strong interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a high-volume, multiple-task environment, possibly in a crowded or closely shared workspace. Exposure to ill patients is possible. Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
