Job Summary

Ebenezer is seeking a skilled and experienced Cook/Chef to join our team at Deer Crest Senior Living. This is a flexible schedule position responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare meals by following standardized recipes and ensuring timely production and meal service is provided to residents.
  • Food Safety: Handle and prepare food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.
  • Line Service: Set up line service and clean and sanitize equipment and work area after each use.
  • Special Events: Assist with special events and assist the Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff.
Requirements
  • ServSafe Certification: Possess ServSafe certification or acquire it within 90 days of start date.
  • Basic Math Skills: Demonstrate basic math skills and comfort using Microsoft applications.
  • Problem-Solving: Exhibit good problem-solving and time leadership skills.
  • Communication: Possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Age Requirement: Be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational/Technical Training: Possess vocational/technical training/education/degree.
  • High School Diploma/GED: Hold a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Cooking Experience: Possess cooking experience in a similar environment.
  • Scratch Cooking: Have scratch cooking experience.
