Job Summary

Ascension is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Intake Specialist to join our team in Chicago, IL. As a key member of our Admissions department, you will be responsible for conducting interviews and behavioral health assessments for potential admissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide admissions and intake services to patients and potential patients
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from persons seeking mental health care or information about mental health-related services
  • Admit patients to the hospital and register outpatients with appropriate physician orders or transfers to another facility
  • Document calls and related admission information
  • Review all paperwork accompanying patients to ensure adherence with hospital and regulatory policies

Requirements

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Services, or related field is expected for this role
