Job Title: Laboratory Specimen Collector
Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
The Ohio State University is seeking a skilled Laboratory Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Patient Service Technician, you will be responsible for collecting and processing laboratory specimens, verifying their accuracy, and ensuring they are dispatched to the appropriate testing locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect blood and other bodily fluids from patients via venipuncture or capillary puncture
- Label and process specimens according to established protocols
- Verify the accuracy of specimens and ensure they meet quality control standards
- Dispatch specimens to designated testing locations
- Train others in specimen collection techniques
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required
- Certified phlebotomist preferred
- EKG training through an accredited organization preferred
