Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pathology Assistant to join their team in Columbus, Ohio.

About the Role

This is a travel position offering a tax-free stipend amount, paid on an hourly basis. The salary will be based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week, with the exact figure subject to confirmation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pathologists in post-mortem examinations (autopsies) and surgical pathology procedures.
  • Prepare surgical specimens for examination, including gross description, dissection, and sampling for microscopic analysis.
  • Perform macroscopic examination of specimens and accurately document findings.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of specimens according to laboratory protocols.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments used in pathology procedures.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of laboratory solutions and reagents.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pathology laboratory and work areas.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in biology, anatomy, and pathology procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Prior experience as a Pathology Assistant or in a related field is desired but not required.
