Objectives of the Role:

  • Deliver financial leadership by overseeing general accounting and reporting activities to ensure precise and timely compliance with all internal and external reporting obligations.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement, driving change within the department.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow) for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closures.
  • Support compliance with GAAP and the implementation of new standards.
  • Exhibit a forward-looking, proactive leadership style with business experience in increasingly complex environments across various geographies and business channels.
  • Demonstrate collaborative accounting expertise with the interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a growth-oriented and challenging role.
  • Show the capability to implement new concepts, ideas, and integrate new businesses and systems as required.

  • Possess strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational and project management skills, and outstanding communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide accounting, processing, and analytical support for general accounting functions, including the collection, tracking, analysis, reporting, and reconciliation of accounting activities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of systems, data, and reporting tools, along with an understanding of business processes related to assigned general ledger accounts, including transaction flow.
  • Record monthly accruals and prepare monthly account reconciliations, assisting with ad hoc requests as necessary.
  • Support Wholesale, eCommerce, and Retail operations as needed.
  • Prepare and document required journal entries for specific entities, including daily transactions and monthly expense allocations.
  • Maintain schedules used in the preparation and completion of the month-end closing process on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
  • Facilitate the training and development of staff.
  • Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by direct reports.
  • Enhance financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions.
  • Propose updates to accounting policies aimed at improving processes and procedures.
  • Perform duties in accordance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Assist accounting management with any accounting-related issues.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, analyses, and special projects as requested by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • CPA designation is a significant advantage.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience is preferred.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills are necessary.
  • Must possess strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments at all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; experience with Pivot Tables and VLookups is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial.
