Position Summary

Connections Health Solutions is a physician-led, comprehensive behavioral health organization dedicated to addressing a wide range of mental health needs. We are seeking Crisis Intervention Specialists (CIS) for our Urgent Psychiatric Center (UPC) who will oversee patient admissions, provide therapeutic interventions and group therapy, and assist in discharge planning. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team across various facility areas, ensuring effective evaluations and therapeutic support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a detailed and clinically sound Psychosocial Assessment with patients promptly. Ensure accurate documentation of all service delivery activities in the clinic record, including obtaining necessary patient signatures for treatment.
  • Collect collateral information from patients, their clinics, and other relevant providers to create a comprehensive understanding of the patient's immediate treatment and discharge needs. Develop and execute a personalized, person-centered Treatment Plan suitable for brief interventions, and review it with patients and involved parties.
  • Engage in regular case discussions with the involved Provider to adapt to new information and ensure the most suitable patient disposition. Collaborate with medical professionals, nursing staff, behavioral health specialists, and peer support to monitor and communicate with individuals, maintaining safety while addressing their needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of the Title 36 Involuntary Commitment process and attend COE hearings when required. Act as a liaison for legal processes.
  • Provide brief interventions, individual, family, and group counseling. Participate in redirecting patient behavior as necessary and document all services and patient interactions accurately. Ensure a safe environment.
  • Stay informed about the Maricopa County Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) system and potential funding sources. Uphold licensure in accordance with the standards set by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners.
  • Engage in individual and group supervision as mandated. Participate in ongoing professional development, including training and in-services, to enhance and maintain competency. Demonstrate proficiency through assessments conducted by direct supervisors.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Health or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in clinical and crisis operations.
  • Licensure by the AZ Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (LAC, LPC, LASAC, LISAC, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT) is mandatory.
  • Fingerprint clearance is required.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with and experience in the AZ Title-36 legal process.
