Position Overview:
The Therapist for the LGBTQIA Call Center plays a crucial role in assisting individuals who reach out to our suicide hotline. This position involves delivering immediate crisis interventions over the phone and utilizing professional expertise to guide callers towards suitable resources and services.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly and professionally to all incoming calls, ensuring adherence to agency standards for efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Conduct thorough assessments of callers' clinical situations and needs.
- Deliver safe and effective clinical interventions to support all callers.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation, ensuring critical information is available for data collection and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders, fostering a positive and flexible work environment.
- Monitor clients placed on a 72-Hour Suicide Watch or Safety Follow-Up, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Be prepared to extend work hours as necessary in response to crisis situations or incomplete documentation.
- Participate in all mandatory meetings and training sessions, which may occur outside of regular work hours.
- Assist in the training of new staff under the guidance of the hotline clinical coordinator.
- Prioritize maintaining a clean and organized hotline area and complete any assigned projects to support Crisis and other departments.
- Engage in in-person meetings, training, and agency events as requested.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of three years of experience in the behavioral health sector is essential.
- Experience in crisis intervention is preferred.
- Supervisory and program development experience is advantageous.
Work Environment:
The typical work setting will be within an office environment, with occasional physical demands such as lifting up to 25 pounds.
