Job Title: Maintenance Technician - San Diego

Location: San Diego, California

Salary Range: $20 to $23 per hour

Introduction:

Rivet Operations Company, a leading provider of physical and cyber security solutions, has an opening for a Maintenance Technician to join our team in the San Diego, California area. This position will support the Military Sealift Command (MSC) by providing building maintenance support. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, and renovations of facilities, as well as providing material quotes and making purchases for maintenance and repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and renovations of facilities, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
  • Tools and Inventory Management: Manage tools and inventory for maintenance and repairs.
  • Building Inspections: Perform building and facility inspections to identify potential issues and recommend repairs and maintenance activities.
  • Material Quotes and Purchases: Provide material quotes and make purchases for maintenance and repairs.
  • Repair and Maintenance Activities: Perform repair and maintenance activities in a safe and effective manner using safety equipment when needed.
  • Maintenance Services: Provide maintenance services and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, minor landscaping, electrical, and machinery.
  • General Repair or Replacement: Provide general repair or replacement of window coverings, chains, door hardware, wall repair, decking, exterior stairs, interior/exterior paint, tile, carpet tile, and general upkeep of facilities.
  • Inclement Weather Preparation: Perform inclement weather preparation and facilities tie-downs.
  • Furniture Repair and Upkeep: Repair, upkeep, and relocation of furniture and building appliances.
  • Vegetation Control: Perform vegetation control and removal.
  • Minor Facilities Maintenance: Perform minor facilities maintenance work, including carpentry, painting, roofing, and welding.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: High school or GED diploma required, Associate's degree preferred. 3+ years of experience performing general labor functions or facilities maintenance.
  • Certifications: Personnel performing on this effort shall be U.S. citizens. Personnel are required to successfully obtain and maintain background investigations and clearances required for the position.
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
