About the Role: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager or Supervisor, the refrigeration maintenance technician is responsible for monitoring and operating various facility systems, including refrigeration, waste water, steam, low pressure hot water, compressed air, high pressure hot water, and ventilation systems. The technician will perform preventative maintenance, maintain all assigned equipment, and ensure that all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on all assigned systems and equipment to meet operational standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on all assigned systems and equipment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records and system readings.
- Observe and test system operations using appropriate gauges and instruments.
- Engage in the dismantling, assembly, and installation of refrigeration equipment.
- Ensure all documentation is completed clearly and accurately, in accordance with required protocols.
- Assist in maintaining inventory levels of parts and supplies by reporting shortages.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout-tagout procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- 1-5+ years of experience as a Refrigeration Technician in an industrial setting.
- Experience with industrial boiler systems is required.
- Familiarity with air compressor systems is necessary.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is highly preferred.
- Experience with automation and the ability to read P&IDs is beneficial.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems (480/230 v 3ph, 120 v, and 24v) with the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
- Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Working knowledge of electrical testing equipment and basic hand and power tools is required.
- Familiarity with Windows-based software, including Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as computerized maintenance management systems.
- Experience operating forklifts and scissor lifts is necessary.
- Soldering and welding skills are required.
