About The Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Project Manager to work onsite at a federal project site to assist with day-to-day project management. The successful candidate will have experience in project financials, scheduling, client and subcontractor coordination, quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination
    • Plan, coordinate, integrate, monitor, and appraise to support the preparation of project and contract proposals
    • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Contract Management
    • Ensure compliance with contractual terms
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Maintain active communication with clients regarding technical progress and the status of the schedule and budget
    • Provide timely and accurate invoicing

    • Coordinate with Program Management to assemble the right project team

    • Manage scope changes

    • Identify development opportunities for project technical staff

    • Ensure maintenance of technical communications and business files

    • In conjunction with the Program Manager, and Service Line Manager as applicable, monitor/evaluate project financial performance

    • Coordinate with the Division Quality Manager regarding quality, technical and personnel issues
    • Coordinate with the Division Health and Safety Manager regarding safety and health issues
  • Project Execution
    • Responsible for the overall success, quality, and safety of project execution
  • Proposal Development
    • Develop project proposal costing and pricing
  • Budgeting
    • Develop and implement budgets for assigned projects
  • Financial Success
    • Responsible for the financial success of assigned projects and ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within contracted scope and within budget
  • Documentation
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Requirements
  • Ability to Mobilize
    • Ability to mobilize quickly and report to the jobsite
  • Background Check
    • Ability to pass a required drug screen and background check
  • Access to Military Installations
    • Ability to gain access to military installations and facilities
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering practice or related field; or a minimum of 8 years of progressive project/program management experience
    • 4 years of construction/industrial project/program management experience
  • Technical Skills
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Excel
  • Contract Management
    • In-depth understanding of, and ability to work with various government contract types, including Cost Plus Fixed Fee, Firm Fixed Price, and Time & Material
  • Project Management
    • Ability to tightly control and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, contract changes, internal staff resources and subcontractors
