Job Summary

Grace Pacific LLC is seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer I to join our team. As a Project Engineer I, you will be responsible for assisting with project administration, reviewing contract documents, and coordinating construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project scheduling, including preparing and updating project schedules for contractors and/or subcontractors.
  • Coordinate pre-job conferences and attend all required project meetings.
  • Handle project correspondence, including schedules, RFI, proposals, and daily reports.
  • Confirm material and equipment requirements with the Superintendent and coordinate submittals of material specifications with internal contacts as needed.
  • Ensure availability of equipment and materials, order material, and schedule delivery to meet project requirements.
  • Assist with project billing information and follow up to assure payment.
  • Review cost data and provide forecasting information regarding projects.
  • Investigate and initiate new methods and cost-saving procedures.
  • Conduct final project audit and review project procedures to ensure continued improvement.
  • Assist with customer relations for assigned projects.
  • Estimate change orders for assigned projects up to $12.5K.
  • Assist with time sheets, travel, and clerical work for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Work hours vary Sunday thru Saturday, with hours based on operational needs.
  • Inter-Island Travel based on operational needs.
  • Vehicle usage for travel to various company locations.
  • Ability to adapt well in face of workplace stressors such as competing priorities of reasonable or high significance.
  • Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Math: Basic math to perform daily tasks.
  • Reading: Able to read and understand contract documents.
  • Computer: Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, AutoCad. Sufficient keyboard proficiency for daily tasks.
  • Licenses: Valid Type 3 Hawaii driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1-5 years construction industry in project administration.
