Patient Care Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic care to patients, including bathing, grooming, and oral care, under the supervision of a RN/LPN.
- Assist patients with personal care needs, including feeding, use of bedpan or urinal, and positioning.
- Perform purposeful hourly rounding on all assigned patients to ensure their needs are met.
- Learn patient safe handling skills to assist in the ambulation of patients and transfer, lift, and reposition patients using Safe Patient Handling equipment.
- Accurately complete and document patient care activities, including ADLs, vital signs, weights, intake and output, and calorie counts.
- Effectively explain and perform procedures, such as urinary catheter removal, ECGs, wound care, and dressing changes under the direction of the nurse.
- Collect non-sterile specimens, such as routine urinalysis and stool specimens, and perform point of care patient blood sugar testing under the direction of the nurse.
- Support the nursing team by performing indirect patient care activities, such as restocking equipment and supplies, and answering and relaying telephone calls.
Requirements:
- Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association.
- Eligible to work in the US.
- Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course.
- Preferred: Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing.
