Position Overview:
The Patient Access Coordinator serves as the primary liaison between the Hospital System and its customers, including patients, healthcare providers, and various hospital departments. This role is crucial in facilitating patient registration for both inpatient and outpatient services.
The Patient Access Coordinator is tasked with ensuring that patients have seamless access to the Hospital System while meeting all registration, business, and administrative obligations associated with each patient interaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in hospital registration or a medical office setting is required. Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in general office tasks, including computer skills, typing at least 30 words per minute, and familiarity with fax machines.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and other relevant software is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and follow-through.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in diverse and challenging situations.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to contribute ideas for departmental improvement.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic healthcare environment.
