Respiratory Care Specialist Opportunity at 77 Consultants

As a **Respiratory Care Specialist**, you will play a crucial role in providing respiratory therapy services across various healthcare settings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering respiratory care under medical guidance to patients throughout the facility.
  • Adapting to various tasks and fulfilling special assignments as required.
  • Overseeing and ensuring the quality of care provided by other respiratory care professionals.
  • Executing duties in accordance with established protocols while working with minimal oversight.
  • Conducting lung function tests and analyzing arterial blood gases with precision.
  • Implementing therapeutic interventions as outlined in patient care plans, while closely monitoring and reporting on patient conditions.
  • Assessing and refining policies based on patient outcomes, current research, and industry best practices.
  • Responding effectively to emergencies, providing assessment and treatment to patients in critical situations.
  • Educating patients and their families about respiratory conditions and available community resources.
  • Managing respiratory supplies and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and organization of storage areas.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Certification as a CRT or RRT through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • A valid license from the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care (WVBORC).
  • A degree from an accredited Associate's program in Respiratory Care.
Incentives

Minimum Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited program in Respiratory Care.
  • A minimum of an Associate of Applied Science degree in the field.
Essential Skills
  • Strong critical thinking and judgment capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage stress effectively.
Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certifications to be completed within 6 months.
Licensure
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentials from the NBRC, with a valid license in West Virginia.
Experience
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology and related disciplines.
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Proficiency in explaining procedures and treatment plans to patients and their families.
