Position Title: Certified Vascular Imaging Specialist

Role Summary:
A Certified Vascular Imaging Specialist is tasked with conducting a range of non-invasive diagnostic assessments to evaluate vascular health. This includes analyzing blood circulation, identifying vascular irregularities, and assessing various conditions related to the circulatory system. The specialist employs ultrasound and other imaging modalities to generate precise images and reports that aid healthcare providers in diagnosing and managing vascular disorders.
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct non-invasive vascular examinations, including carotid duplex, venous duplex, arterial duplex, and abdominal vascular imaging.
- Operate ultrasound machinery to capture images of the vascular system and assess blood flow characteristics.
- Interpret diagnostic test results, delivering preliminary insights and comprehensive reports to the referring healthcare provider.
- Ensure the precision and quality of images and data collected, adhering to established protocols and standards.
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound and vascular diagnostic equipment to guarantee optimal functionality.
- Effectively communicate with patients, clarifying procedures and addressing any concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation during examinations.
- Collaborate with the vascular healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other professionals, to provide thorough patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality in compliance with relevant regulations.
- Stay informed about advancements in vascular technology and methodologies through ongoing education and professional development.
- Follow safety protocols and infection control measures to safeguard both patients and staff.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or an equivalent certification.
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Vascular Technology, or a related discipline.
- In-depth knowledge of vascular anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and other vascular imaging technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality, accurate work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Work Environment:
- The Certified Vascular Imaging Specialist typically operates in a clinical or hospital environment.
- The role may involve prolonged periods of standing and assisting with patient positioning.
- There may be exposure to infectious diseases and other risks; adherence to safety protocols is crucial.
- Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, or on-call shifts, may be necessary.
