Sleep Study Technologist

JOB TITLE: Polysomnography Specialist

As a Polysomnography Specialist at Appalachian Regional Healthcare, you will be instrumental in assessing and managing sleep-related disorders. You will operate under the guidance of the Director of Respiratory Services, ensuring comprehensive evaluation and treatment through advanced testing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and calibrate diagnostic equipment for sleep studies
• Apply necessary electrodes and sensors in accordance with established protocols
• Conduct physiologic calibrations to ensure accurate readings
• Facilitate the fitting of positive airway pressure (PAP) masks
• Adhere to procedural guidelines throughout testing
• Maintain high standards for data integrity and quality
• Document all observations and significant events during testing
• Implement safety interventions for patient well-being
• Deliver care tailored to the specific age group of patients
• Score and analyze sleep/wake cycles and clinical occurrences
• Generate precise and detailed reports of findings
• Perform additional related tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited educational program in polysomnography
• Alternatively, completion of a polysomnography program with relevant experience
• Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is required

Position Grade: 23 Registered Polysomnography Technologist. Proof of registration must be provided.
