POSITION SUMMARY:

The Inventory Management Specialist is responsible for ensuring the precision and reliability of retail store inventory through the analysis of various inventory reports, conducting timely inventory audits, and effectively communicating findings with store leadership. This versatile role collaborates with sales teams, receiving departments, and retail management to uphold inventory accuracy, facilitate restocking, and drive sales while minimizing product loss and shrinkage for the organization. This position also provides exceptional customer service throughout the store, engaging with customers in a friendly and prompt manner, handling merchandise with care, and offering assistance and guidance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensures inventory integrity and accuracy by performing both scheduled and on-demand inventory cycle counts. Conducts assessments of empty displays and peg integrity within departments, making necessary inventory adjustments to maintain stock levels and replenishment. Investigates and resolves discrepancies in inventory variance reports, including negative on-hand reviews, aged in transit items, and purchase order issues. Reviews and shares price change reports with department leaders, completing inventory adjustments based on returned data as required. Communicates opportunities, issues, and discrepancies with Store Leadership for further evaluation and resolution. Delivers an exceptional experience for every customer by assisting them in their purchasing decisions through: identifying and assessing customer needs, making tailored product recommendations, and promoting programs such as CLUB Membership and In-Store Pick-up. Performs additional duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Years of experience: Two

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Proficient in using System Two, RF/Gizmo devices, and DOMO reporting tools. Capable of generating and analyzing inventory reports. Strong organizational skills for processing and managing information. Ability to compose reports and effectively present findings to management. Excellent communication skills to interact with retail sales teams and leadership regarding price adjustments and inventory accuracy.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to utilize ladders and/or lifts. Regular computer work, along with walking, sitting, and standing. Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

Executes responsibilities within the framework of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes challenges and conducts needs assessments. Applies judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired outcomes. Regularly exercises independent judgment within accepted practices and makes recommendations that influence policies, procedures, and practices.
