In the role of Customer Service Representative, you will be pivotal in ensuring patient satisfaction by delivering prompt and precise information in response to inquiries. This position also involves collaboration with external vendors who provide customer services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address customer inquiries and complaints through various channels, including phone and email, by conducting thorough research to identify effective solutions.
- Handle escalated customer service issues from external vendors, including disputed balances and payment plan inquiries.
- Process incoming patient self-pay correspondence efficiently.
- Initiate and receive calls to investigate issues or confirm account details.
- Accurately document patient payment information and follow-up details.
- Utilize various software tools to manage workloads and communications effectively.
- Manage a high volume of inbound and outbound calls while ensuring timely responses.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve patient-related issues and complaints.
- Act as a liaison for third-party vendor issues, ensuring compliance with performance standards.
- Monitor vendor performance and facilitate communication to achieve desired outcomes.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; a minimum of two years' experience in healthcare billing or customer service is preferred.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree is advantageous.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and data entry, with the ability to adapt to various healthcare technology systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance, billing practices, and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with diverse customers.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and positive relationships with colleagues and patients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
