Position Overview

The Sales Commission Program Specialist will act as a key resource for Sunbelt's sales commission structures and will offer strategic insights for future plan enhancements. This role is responsible for evaluating and implementing best practices across various sales channels and representative types. The individual will independently lead and support the planning and coordination of cross-departmental initiatives. Establishing strong, credible relationships with key stakeholders is essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commission Program Oversight:
    • Administer sales commission programs and processes, including the development of new and ongoing plans as necessary.
    • Create and maintain complex database models and tools to enhance efficiency and support commission-related decision-making linked to performance and staffing levels.
    • Participate actively in sales compensation plan steering committees and task force meetings to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
    • Evaluate and integrate field compensation plan suggestions to align with core commission philosophies while accommodating regional differences.
    • Collaborate with IT leadership regarding CRM platforms to optimize sales representative assignments and ensure accurate sales activity tracking.
    • Develop initiatives aimed at enhancing sales effectiveness through reporting and tools, incorporating feedback from field management and training.
    • Maintain and enhance commission reporting related to territory and account-based representative compensation.
    • Design and refine SQL-based KPI reports and other performance metrics.
    • Lead testing of existing and new plan modifications in collaboration with IT concerning commission programs.
    • Provide ongoing support and continuous improvement for Sales Analytics Support communications related to commissions.
    • Oversee the process of monthly and quarterly goal development and reporting.
    • Offer functional guidance in goal-setting processes and training in partnership with regional field resources and their respective sales initiatives.
    • Manage and assist in the development of business intelligence reporting.
    • Foster inter-departmental relationships to achieve organizational objectives.
    • Support HR and Payroll teams by addressing inquiries and tasks to ensure accurate and timely commission compensation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, along with 3 to 5 years of experience in commission plan management or development.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while working independently for extended periods.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with strong internal and external customer service abilities that foster professional relationships.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously with strong time management skills.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and process requests efficiently.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and manage heavy workloads as needed.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, SQL, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft CRM.
  • Experience with Wynne is preferred.
  • Database experience or concentration is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of bending, squatting, crouching, and/or reaching, as well as lifting up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the role. Some positions may necessitate driving for extended periods, loading and unloading heavy equipment, and working in various weather conditions.
